Lifehack: Get Productive
And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom, said Anais Nin, a Cuban American author. At one point in our lives, we can all relate to this wonderful quote. It's the uncertainty to make that first step into the unknown towards your dreams, a fear to loose the security of convenience the daily routine so often brings. But to live a colorful life, sometimes you need to make bold choices, step out of your comfort zone, follow your ambition and intuition with integrity.
About a month ago I finally received my Productivity Planner in the post, a fantastic little thing designed to help elevate your productivity level on a daily basis. A sort of "to-do list meets journal", I've been having a lot of fun using it and can honestly say it really works! I'll be frank to say that I haven't been filling it out every single day, but when I have (which are most days just so you know) - the level of efficiency in my work increased drastically and the stress vanished, making me much more organised, but most of all making me feel happy and grateful for the journey that I am on.
Basically the way to use the PP is very simple, you lay out up to five daily tasks in a descending priority order (although I would recommend to focus on a maximum of three), and follow through on each of them, always starting with the most important task. How do you decide which one is the most pressing matter? In my experience, it's usually the one thing that has been on your procrastination list the longest. So until you complete task number 1, you cannot move on to the next. To dynamically master your day, the PP follows the pomodoro technique, a time management know-how that simplifies your work by breaking it down into short intervals, 25 minutes each (a pomodoro). This allows you to accurately measure the time you spend on each task, hence raising your efficiency factor. It's such a joy to have this little gem in your bag, every page opens up with a beautiful quote inspiring and motivating your mind each day, and most importantly keeping your gaze locked and focused on the road to your success! :)
