Hello lovelies! I hope you had a great start of the spring season. As promised, today's article is all about my day at the London Fashion Weekend. It was my first time on the fashion carpet, and I truly enjoyed my time there. I attended the event solo, hence couldn't take as many quality photos as I wanted, but I tried my very best for you guys on my iPhone, so hopefully you won't mind a little pixel party here :)
I attended two shows on the day, trend and designer. Both were breathtakingly A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The trend show was presented by TheOutnet.com and included four key trend elements dominating this spring/summer season:
- HYPER FLORALS - bright flower prints, colours, colours & some more colours!
- SHIMMER & SHINE - mixed sequins with sporty and casual day wear for an updated fashion!
- MAKE IT MONOCHROME - black and white patterns, colour blocking, sleek and smooth designs!
- THAT SEVENTIES SHOW - crochet and knit tops, skater skirts, fringe, suede, lots of suede, and flares of course!
All of the above trends are this season's fashion-forward essentials, so experiment with little things in your wardrobe to create these trendy cool looks.
The second show I attended was presented by London based fashion house, Sibling. I honestly fell in love with this designer the moment I saw their creations! Their new collection was inspired by New York street style and 80s vibes. With a mix of delicate and strong frills, bow hats, and colour palette from pale blue to turquoise, orange, red and black, the Sibling girl is sporty, fun and fearless, just like the Girl is Fierce :)
A few interesting and insightful talks took place in the East Wing of Somerset House between the catwalk shows, which was a definite must-go for those, interested in fashion industry. It was great to mingle amongst and also get invaluable advice from fashion's best. Another unexpected, but rather pleasant surprise was the pop-up designer store, full of fabulous current collections, all the way from jeans to cocktail dresses. And the best part of it was a mind-boggling 90% discount on everything! It was like the French would say, la cerise sur le gateau (that's cherry on the cake, in case you didn't know)!
For my fashion functions début, I wore a 70s sports inspired two-piece in monochrome with a touch of pink from my favourite FCUK. My gorgeous and current favourite Zara sandals on heels and aviators added a drop of cool elegance to my ensemble. And of course, a staple item in the shape of a leather jacket is always a good idea!
I had an awesome time at #LFWEND and would do it again in a heartbeat. I am definitely going to attend the next run of London Fashion Week in full, and hopefully see the work of all my favourite designers!
